A video of two dog friends has melted hearts on TikTok with their innocence and enthusiasm leading one person to comment: “People should follow their example.”
In the video, posted by the owners of Bailey the Pitbull, a rescue dog from Hungary, who is “living his life”, can be seen being repeatedly met in the street by another smaller female dog, resulting in both dogs going into an adorable cuteness overdrive when they recognize each other. At the beginning of the video, Bailey can be seen waiting patiently outside a house, while his companion recognizes him from the window and rushes down, only to bound up to him talk wagging.
It’s well known that dogs are pack animals naturally and although not all of them will get along, they can form strong bonds with other dogs, and indeed other animal species.
Pet advice website, The Spruce Pets, advocates for having two dogs if you can because “two older dogs, or an older dog and a puppy â€“ could have benefits for you and the dogs.”
One of the saving graces of lockdown if you had a pet was you got to spend more time with them, and didn’t have to leave for work worrying if they’ll be bored, or miss you. But now a lot of us are returning to the rat race, those worries have come back.
“One easy (and cute) way to ensure your doggy is getting enough exercise? Adding a second dog to the mix. You’ll still have to spend some one-on-one time with your dog every day…but they can keep each other exercised and entertained.”
“Many dogs suffer from separation anxiety or feelings of intense anxiety that occur when they’re left alone,” they continue, “Although some dogs will simply grow out of their separation anxiety, some cases require extra attention and solutions, like specialized training, emotional therapy, or even medication.”
Is romance on the cards for this girl and guy dog due? Some users certainly think so, with one use writing, “Love is in the air”, while another commented, “His girlfriend.”
There is an incredibly cute moment at the beginning of the video where Bailey’s female friend is let out of her front door, recognizes him and starts jumping towards him. One person wrote, “The way he [sic She] jumps when he mets his friendâť¤ď¸Ź”, while another wrote, “Those little jumps.”
