Shaking Dogs, What Would Jeff Do? Dog Training Tip of the Day #108

– Hey everybody how are you, it's Jeff Gellman, Solid K9 Training, with my What Would Jeff Do? dog training tip of the day, tip number 108, shaking dogs Oh my gosh, my dog is shaking, what am I doing wrong? Is my dog afraid, is my dog nervous, is my dog scared, does my dog have anxiety? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes

Don't worry about it What I mean by this is this, this reminded me today, of, I've got a seminar that I'm doing here in Elkhart, Indiana, it's a fantastic location, Indiana K9 Learning Center There was a dog that we had, this happens a lot, that was holding a down/stay, but was shaking It's a reactive dog The dog was shaking because it was not reacting

We see this all the time, when we're going through the rehab process with dogs, and we stop the unwanted behavior, like, which only takes seconds usually, with most dogs, what you have then is you've got obedience/compliance, but, the energy of doing the unwanted behavior is still there, and that manifests then, with shaking It's there It's normal, now, do I like seeing my dog shake? Heck no, do I like seeing clients' dogs shake? Heck no, but I understand that it's part of the process, it's called the messy middle So, don't beat yourself up, and don't think you're doing something wrong, and don't pass judgment on people, with their dogs that are shaking, they're processing Look at it as the lack of doing bad behavior

Does it get better? Always does We see dogs go from badly behaved, to, obedience/compliance, with shaking, to obedience/compliance with no shaking, equals success Jeff Gellman, Solid K9 Training, What Would Jeff Do dog training tip of the day, tip number 108 Madly in love with you, talk to you tomorrow, bye
