Police officers with dogs searching area for national training program

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police officers and police dogs will be searching the Charlotte and Matthews area this week.

Don’t be alarmed, however. It’s part of a national training program.

Up to 45 K-9 handlers and their bloodhounds from all over the country are in town to practice how to track suspected criminals.

“They’re gonna get exposed to many things that they may not get at home, such as multiple runners or a lot of contamination,” said retired New York State Police Officer Jesse Davis.
