WAUWATOSA – A run to the mailbox ends in shock for one Wauwatosa couple after a neighbor threatens to kill the familyâs pet.Â
âJust because sheâs a barker. I didnât get it, at all,” Dianna Salas said.Â
An eight lbs dog named Zelda whoâs bark might actually be bigger than her bite is now the subject of a cryptic letter Dianna Salas and her family received in the mail Friday.
“When I opened it up, there was this letter threatening my dogâs life,” Salas said.Â
The letter reads in part â
âYour non-stop barking dog has become a serious annoyance in our neighborhood.â
âIf you and/or the police donât deal with it, I will poison it!â
âI had a bit of anger in me [after I read it]. Sheâs like my child. Sheâs annoying just like the rest of them. Sheâs a barker, sheâs inside, outside, sheâll bark,” Salas said.Â
Salas and her spouse Drake Struble arenât taking the threat lightly.
âA gruesome threat of poisoning someoneâs pet right after saying if the cops donât do nothing. Theyâll take it in their own hands, thatâs just wrong,” Struble said.Â
Not only did Struble share the threat to Facebook, but he and Salas also filed a police report âand although the person who wrote the letter says theyâre a neighbor just south of the couple on 114th Street âStruble and Salas said they have not idea whoâs behind it.
