Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 9/22

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800. For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed Sept. 20 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:





Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:





“Pit bull” mix, tan and white female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (hair up, tail up, baring teeth, growling, tried to start a fight in playgroup Sept. 11); stray taken to shelter Aug. 2 by Karen Reno, Willard Street, Toledo, from York and Wheeling streets, Toledo.





German shepherd, black and tan female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (attacked a dog in playgroup Sept. 5); stray picked up Aug. 17 by a control officer in the 5800 block of Carnation Drive, Toledo.





Chihuahua, black and white female, unlicensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (ongoing seizures, fever, vomiting, laterally recumbent); stray taken to shelter Sept. 20 by Jennifer Charter, Viking Street, Toledo, from Navarre Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white female; stray picked up June 19 by a control officer at 1408 Kelsey Ave., Toledo.





“Pit bull” mix, white and brown male; stray picked up Sept. 5 by a control officer at 3417 Beaumont Drive, Toledo.





“Pit bull” mix, white and tan male; surrendered July 25 by Brandon Stewart, Carriage Drive, Toledo.





Pharaoh hound mix, brindle female; surrendered June 14 by Sherri Locker, Independence Road, Toledo.





“Pit bull” mix, white and orange female; stray taken to shelter June 22 by Richard Ryan, Blissfield Highway, Blissfield, Mich., from Berkey Road, Swanton Township.





Dachshund mix, brown male; confiscated Sept. 5 by a control officer from 865 Butler St., Toledo, after being abandoned.





Parson Russell terrier/​beagle mix, white and brown male; stray taken to shelter Aug. 27 by Taylor Raths, Arlington Avenue, Toledo, from Broadway Street and South Avenue, Toledo. 





German wirehaired pointer, brown and white female; surrendered Sept. 6 by Christopher Reynolds, Pickle Road, Oregon.
