Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800. For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed

Dogs killed Aug. 3-4 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull,” brown and white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3 out of 5 on Aug. 2); stray picked up by a control officer July 30 at 2004 Glencove Dr., Toledo.

Rottweiler, black and brown female, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (12 years old, hard time walking, losing bladder control); surrendered Aug. 3 by Shawna Carter, Sunset Boulevard, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white male, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (aggressive, tried to bite two people); surrendered Aug. 3 by Antione(CQ) Hicks, Luddington Drive, Toledo.

Boxer, orange and white female, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (aggressive, lunging at a newborn baby); surrendered Aug. 3 by Adam Pfeiffer, Colony Road, Rossford.

“Pit bull,” white and tan female, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (throwing up blood after being attacked by another dog); surrendered Aug. 4 by Janal Fisher, Waverly Avenue, Toledo.

West Highland white terrier, white male; stray taken to shelter July 29 by Kory McDevitt, Gilbert Road, Toledo, from Willard Street, Toledo.

Pointer mix, white and black male; surrendered Aug. 2 by Tammy Desparois, Neise Avenue, Toledo.

German shepherd mix, brown and black male; stray picked up by a control officer July 16 at 2619 Fremont St., Toledo.

“Pit bull” mix, black female; stray taken to shelter July 22 by Toledo police from Walbridge Avenue, Toledo.

Parson Russell terrier, white and black male; stray taken to shelter Aug. 1 by Michelle Usko, Green Valley Drive, Toledo, form Monroe Street and Central Avenue, Toledo.
