Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

Bichon frise, white male, licensed; veterinarian recommended euthanasia because of worsening illness, with the dog’s aggression “making safe treatment impossible” (worsening respiratory symptoms, coughing and not eating well; dog snaps hard, trying to bite when approached); surrendered July 6 by Linda Ely, Berkey-Southern Road, Swanton Township.

Chihuahua/Shih Tzu mix, blue and white female, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (14-year-old dog has cancer); surrendered July 18 by Jeff Franks, Avonhurst Road, Toledo.
