Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 7/19

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800. For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed

Dogs killed July 15-17 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull,” white and gray female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (tried to attack a “helper” dog July 13); surrendered July 11 by Angela Hutchisson, Williamsdale Drive, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brown female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/​dog aggression (tried to fight a “helper” dog July 14); stray picked up by a control officer July 11 at 2036 Broadway, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black brindle and white female, unlicensed; fearful/​unsafe; surrendered July 13 by Nestor Jimenez, Ashwood Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” blue and white male, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (bite history and aggression toward children at home); surrendered July 16 by Alisha Parker, Vermaas Avenue, Toledo.

German shepherd, black and tan male, unlicensed; owner requested euthanasia (13 years old, painful hips, falling down); surrendered July 17 by Isaias Vina, Forsythe Street, Toledo.

English setter, cream male; surrendered June 29 by Gordon Franklin, Fleming Drive, Toledo.

Shih Tzu mix, tan and white female; stray picked up by a control officer July 3 at 1526 Lawnview Ave., Toledo.

Miniature schnauzer, black and gray female; stray picked up by a control officer July 3 at 4830 291st St., Toledo.

Pekingese mix, white male; stray taken to shelter July 5 by Keith Fambro, Lapier Street, Toledo, from Summit Street, Toledo.
