Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 7/18

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800. For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Dogs killed July 15 under the direction of Richard Stewart, director of the Lucas County Canine Care & Control:

Breed and description; reason; intake type and date with location found if stray. Dogs killed for poor behavior on body-handling and resource-guarding assessments are scored on a scale of 5, with higher scores being more aggressive. Dog-aggression assessments are not scored:

“Pit bull” mix, brown brindle female, licensed; failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 5 out of 5 on July 14); surrendered July 11 by Sheri Rister, South Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black and white male, unlicensed; bite history; surrendered July 11 by Evelena Singleton, Pinewood Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull” mix, black and white male, unlicensed; bit a staff member on July 4; stray picked up by a control officer May 21 at 202 Gibbons St., Toledo.

“Pit bull” mix, white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3 out of 5 on July 6); surrendered June 30 by Erin Vasquez, Amber Court, Toledo.

Boxer and “pit bull” mix, licensed; bite history; surrendered July 7 by Joseph Burnett, Eleanor Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” brown and white female, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation (fearful/unsafe); stray brought to shelter July 10 by Brent Darr, Garden Park Drive, Toledo, from Jackman Road, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” gray and white female, unlicensed; aggressive/unsafe; stray picked up by a control officer July 10 at 532 S. Westwood Ave., Toledo.

“Pit bull,” orange and white male, unlicensed; failed behavior evaluation/body handling (scored 3 out of 5 on July 13); stray picked up by a control officer July 10 at 726 Earl St., Toledo.
